I remember I was 5 years old the first time I saw this and I really liked it and I was watching movies like the terminator and blood in blood out and total recall so this was awesome to me, and my cousin thought I was to young so in the middle of the movie he took me by the arm and at the time he was 14 years old. He took me by the arm and put me in another room so I haven’t got to see the rest of the movie or the end, but I liked it. I liked what I saw.
Actually Jobe was changed so much by the VR treatment that he gained the ability to control things with his mind I guess. I never saw the movie so I’m not completely sure.
idk how this movies is but it seems totally different from the short story cuz there was no virtual reality at all in the story it was nine and a half pages long how could they add onto that by making a movie about virtual reality it doesnt even seem like a thriller horror type movie it seems like a crappy comedy but it got 8.5 out of 10 wats up with that anyway they should make a remake that follows along with the short story
It controls your body, yes there are segments of it which control your mood, etc etc, but those are there because in the wild, during the evolution, there was no place for emotions, hobby activities etc. They will dissappear as we forget about fighting/dominate each other.
What you are is your soul. The brain is much more overhyped than it should be, a controller, a memory unit, and communicator between the body and you (your soul), but nothing else.
Unfortunately, we know very little about how the brain works.
An electronic computer(and even a quantum one) merely processes numbers, in an orderly and concise manner.
There is NO way to compare it to our current computer technology.
The synaptic network of the mind is capable of spontaneous thought. Spontaneous impulse!
The brain is not a quantum computer…
If it was, we should be a lot smarter than what we are now.
It works like a normal computer, but a lot more sophisticated.
So, yeah- You are talking out of your ass.
Because the brain is essentially a mechanical quantum computer that relies on quantum particles to articulate thought. Assuming that our perception of reality (the world as we see it) is also on the same quantum plane as our “physical” selves (as we experience our thoughts as well), then if one were to exceed quantum capacity of thought our thoughts would theoretically “spill” into reality.
But then again, I’m REALLY high right now and am probably talking out my ass.
one of those trailers that give away 90% of the movie….was gonna watch it again but really dont need to now
Total Recall and this one were my favorite movies when I was a kid but I still like The Lawnmower Man. Nice visual effects
Wow Trey Parker was pretty bad in this movie but I guess noone told him its never cool to go full-retard.
This is a guilty pleasure movie for me.

This brings back a lot of good memories from the early 90’s.

A lawnmower is mechanical, though, not electrical.

wow. after only watching a 2 minute trailer i can tell the movie is ASOLUTELY NOTHING like the stephen king short story.
in fact, stephen king sued to have his name removed from any association with it.
This was actually the first film where the motion capture technique was used.
I’m referring where you put on the suit with motion tracking sensors on it.
Realy?..I am a huge S.K fan and I always thought this was the odd one out!!!Huh..funny!thnx
Agreed. Although sequel was pretty terrible.
still a badass movie even today….need to buy the dvd
this film has so little to do with Stephen King’s short story that he sued them for using his name.
Thoughts have nothing to do with the brain.
It controls your body, yes there are segments of it which control your mood, etc etc, but those are there because in the wild, during the evolution, there was no place for emotions, hobby activities etc. They will dissappear as we forget about fighting/dominate each other.

one of my favorite movies of all time I used to get faded and trip out hardcore on this movie
